Subject:P & Z Hearing - Costco
I wish to speak in opposition to the request to change the zoning usage for the land at Ten Mile Rd and Chinden/Hwy 20-
26 primarily for a Costco location.
As a new homeowner in the Bainbridge subdivision, one factor in our choice was that in accordance with the City’s
Comprehensive Plan this land was to be mixed use residential. A large retailer such as Costco in the heart of a residential
neighborhood is not compatible.
The current road infrastructure on Ten Mile and Chinden will not support the extremely high traffic flow that rezoning
would bring. Additionally. Lost Rapids Drive and Tree Farm Rd will see a heavy increase of traffic attempting to avoid the
Ten Mile and Chinden intersection and heavy traffic. This is not what a residential neighborhood needs.
There are other locations in Meridian where Costco can locate that are not in the heart of a residential neighborhood -
and - which has or is planned to have road infrastructure.
Please do not approve the current request.
Respectfully,
Val Daigle
Bainbridge Resident
