Why Costco would even consider building their store in the middle of a residential community or Brighton selling them
the land for such a purpose has us completely baffled!!! With Brighton it’s probably “all about the money” and their
“greed” for money but since we’ve lived in two other states prior to moving to Meridian and being a loyal customer of
Costco in those states, we’ve never witnessed a Costco positioned in the middle of a neighborhood development. They
were alway positioned in the middle of a heavily commercialized area. Shame on Costco for even considering this move.
And double shame on Brighton for putting the surrounding communities in the position to fiercely fight this proposal.
The burden of the additional traffic to our already over crowded streets and Chinden particularly and the negative
impact it will have on property owners in the immediate area far out weighs their desire to build here. Let them go
somewhere else!!!! There is plenty of vacant land west, north or south of us where there is more open space and less
congested traffic. We vote a big NO to this development!!!!! David and Diane Holke in SpurWing Estates
