I unfortunately cannot attend either of the meetings next week as I am out of town. It is unfortunate because I really wanted my voice to be heard. I live at 5927 N. Botticelli Ave, Meridian ID 83646 in Bainbridge, right across the street from the above mentioned location for Costco location. First I want to share one word to summarize how I feel and it is – terrified. I am terrified for the safety of our children and the park across the street that we play at every day. I have two children Trey, 2 and Parker, 4. They love to go to the park every day and we let them ride their bikes. The reason we chose to move to Bainbridge was for the quietness and ability to have our children ride and play on normal side streets. There are many concerns I have with building a Costco on an already over populated and busy corner of Ten Mile and Chinden but my single biggest fear is the increased traffic on Lost Rapids through Bainbridge. There will be a lot of concerns raised about the Costco in general and I agree with most of them. I ask one thing, if the Costco does pass THERE CAN NOT BE AN ENTRANCE ON LOST RAPIDS. I ask this for my children who have no voice and all concerned parents in the area. The risk of a child being hit by a car or accident happening when traffic goes up dramatically when people cut through Lost Rapids to access Costco. We cannot jeopardize our children’s safety. I am sorry I am unable to share my opinions in person and hope you can pass mine to the appropriate people.
