I wish to express my adamant opposition to the proposed Costco. When we moved here 6
years ago I did my due diligence regarding the surrounding vacant property near the house I
was going to purchase. I live in the Spurwing subdivision. The community development
plan, put forth by the Mayor, City Council, and community members called for a
community friendly area with no building exceeding 30,000 sq. ft. The Costco is a mega-
industrial facility which is 430,000 sq. ft. Not a community store but a regional behemoth.
Though I recognize that the development plan is not law it shows the intent and direction the
City is striving to achieve . We made our home purchase based on the good faith of our
elected officials. Please do not sell the values we cherish for some road money. We deserve
better
