From: Jesse Vycital [ mailto:vycital@gmail.com ] Sent: Thursday, February 01, 2018 5:40 PM To: cityclerks@meridiancity.org ; planninginquiries Subject: Hickory Appartments H-2017-0165 City Council Members, I am opposed to the rezoning of the land located at 1789 North Hickory Way. 1. Improper notification - I don't believe that the homeowners were properly notified of this hearing. The only notification I received was a note taped to my mailbox less than a week before the hearing date. 2 2. There is no need for rezoning - there is plenty of space elsewhere that is properly zoned; this re-zoning in not necessary. 3. Property values - The completion of a high density housing complex will negatively affect property values of surrounding homes. 4. Zoning is inconsistent - The rezoning would be highly inconsistent to the surrounding zone uses. 5. Public Services - Traffic counts are not up to date. Even with the addition of the Solterra subdivision, traffic rates have substantially increased since the last counts. Public school systems capacities cannot support such an increase either. I move that the application to rezone and issue conditional use permit for Hickory Appartments H-2017-0165 be denied, or be tabled to a later date and re-issue proper notification.
