My name is Griffin Lawler, and I'm a resident of Foxtail Estates on Chinden Blvd and S Bergman Way (primary access point for proposed Linder Village). I understand that the developer has made changes to the site plan subsequent to the November City Co uncil meeting. Based on my assessment of the amendment, it appears that the buildings in the plan still exceed the recommended footprint size for MU-C designation. Based on this concern, along with concerns related to having 24/7 "big box" retailer (e.g. n oise, safety, etc.) and the detrimental traffic impact to Chinden Blvd, I recommend to you that the council DENY or REMAND (with a requirement the developer makes substantial changes to the proposal) the application at the city council meeting this evening. The current zoning designation was originally put in place for a reason, with the best interests of the residents of Meridian and Eagle in mind. Please keep those same best interests in your mind, and vote to DENY or REMAND (with a requirement the developer makes substantial changes to the proposal) this current application. While I have no delusions that the land in question will stay a hay field forever, to change the zoning and allow big box commercial in that area would be a massive mistake (based on my concerns listed above). While not technically a resident of Meridian, my subdivision is across Chinden, with the main access point being the proposed primary entrance to Linder Village (S Bergman Way). Please do not discard my comments because I don't have a Meridian mailing address. This proposed change would have the same effect on me, if not a more significant effect given my location, as other Meridian residents. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully submitted, -- Griffin Lawler
