Message I attended the meeting last night in reference to Linder Village. I realize you have a
hard job, listen to both sides of an argument and try to determine truth vs. made up
facts. Almost Like a Trial Judge. I believe there a few statements that need to be
clarified:
1. All the groups claiming to represent the Paramount HOA, they do not. I live in
Paramount and do not agree with them.
2. The map showing 98% of houses with a red mark as against the Village is wrong
and made up, Half of Paramount is in support of the project.
3. Even thou a Planning and zoning commission plans for zoning, it is a good
practice, the zoning for land not annexed into the city is just that, a plan and a desire,
not a legal binding document. All the groups that hired lawyers and are arguing that
fact are misguided.
4. The groups opposing this Village will NEVER stop arguing against it because they
bought next to a commercial lot. Linder village held numerous meetings and all
opposed refused to attend and spread the word to boycott them so they can claim they
were not consulted with nor listened to.
5. No citizen that has no financial stake in a project can dictate what will and will not
be built, Linder village has changed the plans many times to listen to complaints,
Winco has stayed in the process alot longer than any other business would, The way
Winco is being treated they should leave Meridian all together as Brighton Never got
treated like this.
6. Brighton was allowed to put a stop light right off the interstate on Ten Mile so they
can sell all of here land.
7. The way Winco is placing the store there is no legal need for a variance for 24 hrs.
The only home owner that it effects is in 100% in favor of this.
Please approve this on Jan16th. so we can get a much needed store in this area.
