Subject:Linder Village Development
Dear Meridian City Council,
Given the substantial changes being made to the Linder Village site plan, we respectfully request that you remand the
application back to the P&Z commission level for further review and for a new hearing. The P&Z commission
unanimously rejected the existing and modified proposal for good reason, it does NOT meet the future land use map for
the plot of land. The developer is continually befuddled why our community does not want what he calls a “stellar”
model of urban design. Yet another strip mall in the exact same model of a sea of parking and no forethought to the
surrounding community does not equal stellar design and does not meet the mixed use community designation. This
developer has zero regard for the longevity of the community based on their proposal and continual struggle to not only
change the zoning for the Linder Village project, but by also attempting to force additional lights being placed on
Chinden for their sole development. Imagine if the developer is able to put in a light solely for their development, every
single other development along the Chinden corridor would then have the go ahead to add additional lights and severely
impact the major commuting pathway. While yes there is a small subdivision to the north that this light would also
service, this is a very small community and I do not feel warrants which is in line with all other subdivisions at the ¼ mile
increment along the Chinden corridor. The developer clearly has only their agenda in mind for this proposal and does
not care for the long term impact to the entire community and commuter traffic.
In addition, making such an immense change to the zoning of the land after the entire Paramount community has been
established should not be allowed. Many residents made the commitment to live in our community based on the future
land use map, making such a drastic change to the
Thank you,
