A recent report from West Ada School district, published as part of their investigation into future bond measures, indicated that Rocky Mountain High School is already over-enrolled by 610 students, while Heritage Middle School is over-enrolled by 341 students. These numbers reflect the current state of the schools and do not account for the large apartment complex currently under construction on the SE corner of the Paramount subdivision, which will have over 300 additional residential units. Also, the latest site plan for the Linder Village development on the NW corner has omitted all details about the residential portion, so it is impossible to determine the number of additional residential units that will appear in that area, on top of those in this proposal. It is clear that our schools will continue to be taxed beyond capacity even without the additional students this development would bring. We encourage the developer to resubmit the proposal and reduce the negative impact to local residents, schools, and businesses by eliminating the high-density units and replacing them either with low-density housing units or community oriented businesses.
