Luke,
Thank you for responding so quickly, and for the clarification. Although, what I've found in the
past is that usually City Council votes to uphold the Planning and Zoning recommendations. I
will just hold out hope that this time will be different. Perhaps approving the store with a few
changes to the plan. What I want, my extended family, neighbors and countless others I work
with who live here on the northwest side of Meridian, is to ensure that we get Winco, and
especially Costco built here, quickly! This is the closest we've been to finally seeing that reality
after 20 years, and we would be highly frustrated to see it shot down. I am also a teacher, and
these two stores bring in huge revenue and would increase the tax base for West Ada School
District. As you know, our district took a huge hit several years ago, and we are still trying to
get back what we lost. This continues as our city just continues to grow. Our district needs this
boost! So many reasons why we need this. If I want to make my weekly Costco run, I currently
have to drive 12 miles to either Boise or Nampa and help fund their school district instead of the
one I teach in. So frustrating on both levels! The need has been here for years, and just gets
bigger as we expand. Thanks for listening. I hope you will share these concerns during your
council discussions and with Tammy.

Hi Deena,
Thanks for your email and for sharing your perspective. As an FYI, the Planning and Zoning
comission recommended denial, but the final decision will be made by the City Council next
month. While council members are prohibited from commenting while not on the public record,
I want you to know that I’ve read your email and appreciate your feedback.

We as a city council are average citizens who care about our community. Thanks for connecting
and sharing your opinions.

So disappointed that the plan for a Winco at Linder was denied! There were
hundreds of us who signed wanting a winco on our side of town! With so much
growth here we need this! Yes, Chinden needs to be improved, but that is a no
brainer either way, and we who live out this way deserve the stores here that we
want to shop at, closer, so that we do not have to continue to drive long distances
to these places! Are you considering that those commutes actually contribute to
the increased traffic?! I hope to God that you won't deny the proposed Costco
off Ten Mile! Many of us feel you are just catering to the voices of the wealthy
few, and not all of the rest of us who have been begging for these stores to build
here for years! Don't wait until the open land now is eaten up by more and more
subdivisions. Have a little more vision than that! Give us Costco and Winco on
our side of town and fix the roads!

I support Linder Village along with building a Winco there. Please vote yes to bring affordable shopping to our
side of town and add needed revenue to Meridian. Support consumer choice and reduce our dependence on
having to commute to other sides of town just to do our shopping!
