We support the Linder Village project and we urge you to approve it.
We live in the square mile across Linder from the project, in the Kelly Creek Subdivision. The naysayers
ignore the convenience of neighborhood shopping, and the fact that it actually lessens the traffic burdens on
arterials like Chinden and Eagle Road, let alone the extra miles, time, fuel and pollution from traveling to a
Winco or a Costco (our nearest Costco, in either direction, is about 9 miles).
There will ever and always be those who say, “Yes that would be great, but not here, not in my back yard”. Yet
that is that not the whole idea behind planning and zoning, to look at the larger picture and to the greater
good? If this project meets all of Meridian's standards, requirements, and guidelines, then it must be
approved. After all, there will be commercial development there; it is inevitable. And we would love to see
both a Winco and a Costco in that location, as well as the other offerings.
