My name is Griffin Lawler, and I'm a resident of Foxtail Estates on Chinden Blvd and S Bergman Way (primary access point for proposed Linder Village). I'm sure you've received similar emails/calls to this, so I'll try to keep it short and not be overly repetitive! I understand the current zoning designation for the SE corner of Linder/Chinden is Mixed Use Community. The current zoning designation was originally put in place for a reason, with the best interests of the residents of Meridian and Eagle in mind. Please keep those same best interests in your mind, and vote in opposition to this 2 proposal. The proposed rezoning changes would allow commercial development on a much larger scale, drawing significantly more traffic from all over the area. I ask that you vote no to the proposed rezoning. While I have no delusions that the land in question will stay a hay field forever, to change the zoning and allow big- box commercial in that area would be a massive mistake. The primary reasons I'm opposed to the rezoning are: • Traffic - Chinden Blvd is already overcrowded with no signs of slowing down, and no imminent or adequate changes planned. • Safety - The potential for traffic accidents and danger to pedestrians would increase • Integrity of the City planning process • Noise - 24/7 grocery operations with truck deliveries, etc. • Overcrowding - my family moved to our current location 1.5 years ago, under the assumption of the current zoning and City plan. Please don't change that! • Property Values While not technically a resident of Meridian, my subdivision is across Chinden, with the main access point being the proposed primary entrance to Linder Village (S Bergman Way). Please do not discard my comments because I don't have a Meridian mailing address. This proposed change would have the same effect on me, if not a more significant effect given my location, as other Meridian residents. I understand a similar proposal was presented and subsequently rejected 8 years ago by the P&Z commission due to resident concerns. No major changes have been made that would accommodate that plan to be approved now. I ask that you continue to protect the best interests of the residents of the City. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully submitted, Griffin Lawler 4275 W Temple Dr. Eagle, ID 83616
