I am sure it is one of many you are receiving this week in reference to the Linder Village Development. My family and I are Paramount residents. We live in the Northeast Corner of the neighborhood, near the Director and Meridian Road entrances. I am writing this email to express my family's opposition to the proposed Linder Village development. My main concerns with this commercial development are related to the traffic that it will bring to the interior Paramount streets, particularly Director and Fox Run. Chinden road is not able to support the expected traffic loads. If this development is built, it will be before the road is widened to support it. Additional ly, the addition of a stoplight at Bergman will put two stop lights right on-top of one another, further impeding traffic. If access points are provided to Linder Village through Paramount, this will increase the traffic loads on residential streets and pose a danger to our children. As many of you are aware, Paramount is putting a pool and park at the corner of Fox Run and Director. My children as well as all of the other children in this section of Paramount will be crossing Director every day to get to the park and pool. There are no stop signs, speed bumps or crosswalks to prevent Director from becoming a race track and even if there were, residential streets are not designed to support this traffic load. My fear is that Director will wind up having a traffic load like the 2 street named Records near the Village. That road has only been open all the way for a few short months and the traffic volume had increased immensely. Many of us have quickly learned that Records is the way to avoid Eagle road when we are heading to the Village. This makes sense, because Records is not surrounded by residential on both sides. If access is provided to Linder Village from Paramount streets, then Director will become just like Records, it will be a way for everyone to avoid Chinden, This is not what residential streets are designed for. The current zoning calls for the Linder Village property to contain smaller commercial that supports the needs of the surrounding neighborhoods such as Foxtail, Lochsa Falls and Paramount, not to be a regional shopping hub, pulling traffic from other communities such as West Boise, Eagle, Star and Emmett. Over the years, Meridian Officials have taken the time to carefully think through the future land use plan. This has included evaluating the surrounding commercial, residential and road infrastructure to determine the best use of the space. Paramount residents support the land use plan as it stands today and we support commercial development in the proposed Linder Village space, but on a scale that matches and serves the surrounding residential homes. Again, thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to the meeting on August 3rd. Thank you, Beth Schweibinz 6052 N. Mitchum
