Subject: Proposed Linder Village development
Hello and Happy Monday!
My husband and I have been residents and homeowners in the Paramount subdivision of Meridian for
over seven years. We have lived in Meridian for for 18 years and absolutely love our community. We
are raising our two children (7 and 4) and they love their neighborhood community, school and family
environment. I love that our kids can play out front (with us watching from the front porch), riding
bikes with their friends and throwing the base ball. However, we are very nervous and worried about
the development that is proposed behind Paramount.
We have seen various drawings that show multiple entrances and exits from the Linder village
development coming in and out of Paramount. Unfortunately, one of the roads (Bergman) shown
runs right past the side of our house. We object to this strongly. Our little Bergman road within
Paramount was not built for, or meant to hold traffic of many cars that want a 'short cut' to save
some time and avoid going out onto Linder or Chinden. Most of our neighbors have small children
and we are scared that if there is a vehicular entrance and exit from the subdivision into the
development that our families' safety will be impacted. We are not against growth or development,
but do not want our nice neighborhood to be the roadway in and out for residents of surrounding
subdivisions that just want a short cut home. If it were to be a bike or walking path where you
could stroll into the development for a Saturday evening family dinner or an ice cream, then that
would not pose a problem for us and our neighbors.
We are not against growth and retail development. We would love to have nearby the kinds of shops,
cafes, retail services, and other businesses that are consistent with the current mixed use community
designation. We are just very concerned about the increased traffic and congestion on our
neighborhood streets within Paramount, and the possible vehicular access paths into the
Linder village. Walking or biking paths would be sufficient, but not vehicular. Shoppers from
nearby neighborhoods (some from Lochsa Falls, Kelly Creek, etc..) would seek to avoid Chinden by
short-cutting through our neighborhood from Meridian, McMillan, and Lin der roads, raising noise and

safety concerns for neighbors and children. If it was your neighborhood and children's safety, I am
sure you would feel the same way.
Thank you for taking the time to read my email and listen to our concerns.
We look forward to being a part of the process in a respectful and professional manner, and we
thank you for your service to our great city of Meridian!
Respecfully,
Erin Ebright
